Special teams

Kicker

Starter: Jake Moody

Backup: Quinn Nordin

It was Quinn Nordin‘s job to lose and he lost it last year after missing five field goals and an extra point. Jake Moody came in and was nearly perfect and as long as he continues his accuracy, he will stick it out as the starter.

Although, there was that famous sleepover at Nordin’s house that makes me believe he holds a special place with Harbaugh.

Punter

Starter: Will Hart

Backup: Brad Robbins

Will Hart begins his senior year with Brad Robbins the heir apparent at the position. Hart was number one in the Big Ten for punting yards per punt earning him the Big Ten Punter of the Year Award. An Award he hopes to defend.

Punt returner

Starter: Ronnie Bell

Backup: Mike Sainristil

With Ambry Thomas out, Ronnie Bell starts as the punt returner providing him a stage to showcase his talent for the fans and coaches. If there are any injuries to the starting receivers, Bell will be replaced as a returner in favor of more playing time on offense.

Kick returner

Starter: Mike Sainristil

Backup: Ronnie Bell

The exact opposite of the punt returner set up as Mike Sainristil comes in to return kicks and backs up Ronnie with punts. This is where Mike will be able to show his shiftyness and speed and hopefully run for a couple of touchdowns.
