Josh Gattis, Michigan football offensive coordinator, met with reporters after fall practice Wednesday and here is a look at the important things he said.

The Michigan football team amped things up this week in fall camp as padded practices started on Tuesday. What stole attention away from the players on the field, was some media interviews done by coordinators Josh Gattis and Don Brown.

Both guys met with the media after workouts and offered some key nuggets going forward. Of course, with Brown, there is less mystery. We have a pretty good idea what he’s going to do and what Michigan football will look like defensively with Brown dialing up the calls.

On the offensive side of the ball though, things will be much different in 2019. That’s the main point of bringing in Gattis. The offense needed radical change. Ball control doesn’t work anymore and Michigan football found that out the hard way last season.

Now with a dynamic quarterback, a few dynamic quarterbacks actually, a slew of really talented wide receivers and a nice stable of backs, plus a really talented offensive line, the Wolverines should thrive offensively.

Gattis has installed a no-huddle, up-tempo system one designed to take advantage of the playmakers already on the roster. Guys like Donovan Peoples-Jones, Nico Collins and Tarik Black should excel in this system, along with Ronnie Bell, Mike Sainristil, Giles Jackson, Sean McKeon and Nick Eubanks.

Gattis has big ideas for the offense as a whole and here are three key things he shared with the media Wednesday.
