This year is by far the best chance at winning everything compared to any other year under Harbaugh. Urban Meyer consistently out-coached and out-recruited this Wolverine staff over his tenure with the Buckeyes.
But as Jim said, his winning sometimes came with a cost.
“Urban Meyer’s had a winning record. Really phenomenal record everywhere he’s been,” Harbaugh said on The Athletic’s “The TK Show” podcast. “But also, controversy follows everywhere he’s been.”
Jim went on to say that while he may have a losing record against the Buckeyes, Michigan football has two goals: “win multiple championships and run a first-class program.”
Now that’s all over. Urban is transitioning to his new position as a Fox Sports Analyst and his predecessor, Ryan Day, comes in with zero head coaching experience. Although Day has moved ahead of UM in recruiting for 2020, this weekends annual BBQ may turn the tides for the future of the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry.
With all things considered, the stars have aligned.
