The Michigan basketball team has a bunch of talented players ready to take the next step in 2019-20 and here are three guys that must step up next season.

The 2019-20 season for Michigan basketball is still a few months away, but recently, head coach Juwan Howard and his staff have begun working with players in a limited fashion.

While there is only so much you can do during this time of the year, there has still been some positive news coming out of Ann Arbor about the development of some young players, as well as even more growth from guys like Isaiah Livers, Zavier Simpson and Jon Teske.

Teske, Simpson and Livers, along with Franz Wagner, are the four guys who seem to be in line to start next season, with a number of others such as David DeJulius, Adrien Nunez, Eli Brooks, Brandon Johns and Colin Castleton are trying to build on what they did as freshmen.

Johns, Castleton and DeJulius saw the most significant time, as Nunez really only played in garbage time and now under Howard, they have a chance to carve out a much more significant role this season.

Everyone knows Michigan basketball lost a bunch of talent and production from last season’s team and to replace it, the only reinforcements are Wager and fellow freshman Cole Bajema.

Both have a nice shooting touch. Wagner is also as ready to play as any freshman that has come to Michigan in recent years and he should make an immediate impact. Bajema doesn’t have those high expectations.

However, others on the roster do and here are three guys that really need to step up their game next season.
