The offseason is all but over now that Big Ten Media days have come and gone. Much was divulged from those inside to the Michigan football program so let’s take a look at the top five storylines.

It’s been a spectacular offseason especially when it comes to recruiting. The Michigan football coaches have been crossing the county bringing in a top ten class for next year.

New offensive coordinator Josh Gattis has been getting his fair share of praise but overall this squad has been described as the best coaching staff at Michigan, according to Jim Harbaugh.

Harbaugh said Don Brown is “as good a coach as I’ve ever coached with” and defensive backs coach Mike Zordich “continues to coach All-Big Ten corners that turn into pro corners. outstanding football coach.”

Jim went as far as saying Chris Partridge – the special teams coordinator and safeties coach – is “ready to be a head coach.”

Coach Harbaugh went down the list of all the staff praising their work ethic and their extraordinary coaching abilities, which is wonderful to hear but we need to see it on the field.

But before we get to game time against Middle Tennessee State on August 31st, at 7:30 PM at The Big House which can be watched on the Big Ten Network, let’s look at the other storylines from Big Ten Media Days.

If you don’t have a Twitter account or you went on vacation this weekend, you missed a plethora of information relating to the team and some possibly disturbing news about Ohio State’s year-round prep for the November matchup.

They do this workout called ‘the team up north drill’ where they conduct an extra workout at the end of the day in hopes of keeping the winning streak alive – even though they have an untested head coach and quarterback…oh and the games in Ann Arbor this year – yeah, I’ll be there.

Defensive end Jonathon Cooper spoke about one of the ‘team up north drills’ they do which consists of hitting a punching bag with the block M design on it (jealous much?).

Cooper said “When you have a punching bag in front of you with the letter M in front of you and you’re punching it, and you’re punching it because you’re tired, and you’re punching it because your coach keeps telling you to punch it, it sets a mindset in you that when you see that”.
