Michigan Football: 2010s All-Decade team for the Wolverines
A position-by-position look at the most accomplished players Michigan football has produced since the start of the 2010 season.
The 2010s have been a roller coaster of a decade for Michigan football. The first season of this decade served as the final year of the Rich Rodriguez era.
Brady Hoke’s tenure got off to a great start with an 11-2 season in 2011 but Michigan football never reached those heights again and he was relieved of his duties following the 2014 season.
Jim Harbaugh‘s first four seasons are an interesting proposition. On one hand, he has steered the ship to three 10-win seasons. On the other hand, the program is 0-4 vs. Ohio State and just 1-3 in bowl games.
Entering year five, optimism abounds in Ann Arbor. Josh Gattis, hired from Nick Saban’s staff at Alabama, will handle the play-calling duties and his “Speed in Space” offense will bring Michigan football into the modern era. Despite some losses to graduation and the National League Football, Don Brown’s defense returns a lot of talent, too.
The final year of this decade is setting up to be perhaps Michigan football’s best chance to reach the Big Ten Championship Game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Since it is the final year of the decade, let’s look at Michigan Football’s 2010s All-Decade Team.
There were several tough decisions that had to be made, especially on the defensive side of the football. Some very good players were left off the list. For each position, we’ll select a starter and give you a corresponding number of honorable mentions.
