Michigan football is a legitimate contender for 2020 offensive tackle Andrew Raym. Here’s the latest on him and other recruiting notes.

When Ed Warriner came to Michigan football to coach the offensive line, he didn’t have a reputation for being an elite recruiter. Yet, in the past two cycles, he has landed plenty of big-time prospects.

Warriner helped Michigan football sign guys like Trente Jones, Trevor Keegan and Nolan Rumler to the 2019 class, while also getting a commitment from top-100 offensive lineman Giovanni El-Hadi for 2021.

In short, Warriner has been everything Michigan could have wanted in an O-line coach and more and this month, he is going to work on landing another big fish — Oklahoma offensive guard Andrew Raym.

Raym is the No. 3 guard in the country according to the 247 sports composite rankings and also the best player in the state of Oklahoma. Obviously, the Sooners have been in on him from the start, but according to the Michigan Insider, the Wolverines are right there in the top three for the 88th-ranked player nationally in 2020.

Here is what Brice Marich of 247 sports had to say ($):

"I’m hearing the four-star prospect has now narrowed it down even further to Michigan, Georgia and Oklahoma, according to a source. He’s set to take an official visit to Georgia next weekend and then one to Michigan on June 21-23."

The deck appears stacked against the Wolverines with all 11 crystal ball predictions at 247 sports going to the Sooners. However, Michigan did steal Daxton Hill from Oklahoma in 2019 and with Raym visiting UM later this month, a lot can happen. In recruiting, one visit can change everything.

Speaking of visits, A.J. Henning visited Notre Dame Tuesday and that’s something to keep an eye on. The Wolverines seemed to have a lot of momentum with the top player from Illinois in 2020 but the wideout has also seemed very fond of Georgia and Notre Dame in recent weeks.

Henning posted he was “feeling lucky” during his visit to South Bend Tuesday, but it’s hard to know what to think of his Twitter profile which includes a photo of him in a Michigan football uniform. He’s another guy to watch closely in the coming weeks.

Lastly, in more news on 2021, the Wolverines are trending with Ryan Keeler, a three-star defensive end that goes to the same high school as J.J. McCarthy. That is from Sam Webb of the Michigan Insider, which also handed out a crystal ball for the Wolverines to Andrel Anthony.

Anthony is a 2021 wideout from East Lansing and is 6-foot-2, 165 pounds. Michigan is the first power program to offer him and it looks like he could be an early possible commit at wide receiver.
