Carlos Johnson

Whether Howard ends up hiring Detroit native Howard Eisley to be his other assistant as some have suggested and Dick Vitale blurted out on Twitter without citing any sources.

Eisley would be a great hire, not only because of his basketball knowledge but his Detroit connections. There are talented players in Detroit and Chicago and Michigan needs more of them.

One player from the state of Michigan that would be a great fit for Howard is 6-foot-6 forward Carlos Johnson. He’s from Benton Harbor, Michigan and is the 106th-best player in 2020 as well as the 20th power forward.

Yet, he feels like the perfect replacement for Isaiah Livers. He’s a versatile player and was already offered by UM a few months back. We will see if Howard sticks with that offer but in Johnson, he would getting the second-ranked player in the state of Michigan and one that went 9-of-13 from 3-point range in a game in the EYBL circuit last year.
