Chris Webber and Co. said so

Chris Webber was a guest on the Rich Eisen show and provided an incredible vote of confidence.

Eisen – a Michigan alum – asked Webber who he thought should take over Michigan basketball.

Webber mentioned that Howard has always been a professional and said that he would send his son to play for Juwan not because they are friends but because of the ‘talks’ his son would have with Howard.

Chris ended by saying that Juwan checked all boxes and that for Howard, there was nothing he wanted more in this world than to be the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines.

Jalen Rose said that Juwan should have been the No.1 candidate all-along and echoed Webber’s sentiments about Howard’s professionalism.

"“And for those that don’t know, he was always the adult in the room among us. You never saw Juwan Howard without a haircut. You’ve never seen him without a crease in his pants. You’ve never seen him undisciplined. And he was a technician out on the floor. He goes to the NBA, ultimately gets a max contract, plays a really long time, becomes an All-Star, and later in his career becomes a champion.”"

I get it, these are his friends and they want him to have the job; therefore, they could be a little bias.

How about someone who didn’t want Juwan to leave and is the by far the best judge of Howard’s coaching ability, Miami Heat HC Erik Spoelstra.

"“Juwan is an absolute star as a person, player and coach, I feel he is more than ready. He is a terrific leader and mentor, which translates very well to the collegiate level. While we are losing a valuable member of our staff and a great friend, I am happy for him and his family.”"
