Just about every preseason poll has Michigan football ranked in the top 10 heading into next season and here are three reasons why that is totally legit.
There are a lot of fans that view preseason polls with a lot of skepticism and for a lot of reasons, that is completely legitimate. However, in the case of Michigan football, fans should believe the hype.
Despite not being able to beat Ohio State the past four seasons, head coach Jim Harbaugh has proven that he knows how to build a winner. Michigan football has won 10 games in three of the past four years and has spent a much of the time ranked in the top 10 two of the past three years.
Obviously, fans want more. They want wins over Ohio State and Notre Dame. They want to beat quality teams away from the Big House and they want to see the Wolverines win championships.
While I can’t guarantee all of those things will happen this season, I feel confident in saying Michigan is easily going to be among the nation’s top-10 teams in 2019. In fact, ranking them near the bottom of the top 10 might be a little low.
There is a reason why all the playoff prognosticators have focused in on the Wolverines out of the Big Ten. Michigan football has the talent, it has the coaching and it has the schedule to make a run at the playoffs in 2019 and here are the best reasons why that preseason ranking is legit.
