Michigan Football: Where each Wolverines draft pick is headed
Fifth round
Zach Gentry
Pick: 3
It’s sad to say that possibly one of the reasons why Zach Gentry left the Wolverines early was the one percent of the fan base who have nothing better to do than bully student-athletes that have an off day on the field.
"The reason it hung around so much for me was a lot of people bringing it up. A lot of turmoil in the quote ‘fanbase,’ getting a lot of stuff via social media. Deleted the Twitter, had to stay away from some of that stuff. Which was pretty unbelieveable,” Gentry said. “Some pretty bad stuff…Disapointing stuff i’ll say. It comes with the game, so whatever. But, yeah, it took longer to get over (the OSU loss). It’s motivated me and made me work harder."
It goes without saying Zach Gentry is an outstanding talent which was recognized by those in Pittsburgh. With the third pick in the fifth round, the Pittsburgh Steelers select Zach Gentry.
Gentry will be joining Devin Bush to play in Steel city where the former starting tight end, Jesse James, vacated his spot and relocated to Detroit. I don’t know that Zach will start right away but the 6-foot-8-inch target could see some time on the field as early as this season.
