Starters: Josh Ross, Devin Gil, Khaleke Hudson

Flat out, when it comes to linebacker, Michigan football is deep and I mean super deep. Yes, the Wolverines have to replace their best player at the position in some time in Devin Bush Jr., however with Ross, Gil and Hudson, UM has two guys that started (Hudson and Ross) and Gil is another who basically was a part-time starter. That experience plus the versatility and depth behind those three guys is going to make his unit a core part of the defense, again.

Backup(s): Josh Uche, Jordan Anthony, Cameron McGrone, Michael Barrett, Jordan Glasgow

In an interview with Wolverines Wire, Don Brown said UM was as deep at linebacker as he could remember with guys like Uche, Jordan Anthony, Cam McGrone, Michael Barrett and Glasgow coming off the bench, I’d say that’s accurate. Uche can be a defensive end and a SAM. Anthony and McGrone both took big steps during the spring and Glasgow has been a solid contributor. Both he and Michael Barrett should play some at viper alongside Hudson.
