The young wideout made an instant impression

With Peoples-Jones and Collins both out this spring, it opened the door for a bunch of wide receivers to make a move up the depth chart.

Some holdovers such as Tarik Black, Ronnie Bell and Oliver Martin played well, but no one made a bigger move up the depth chart than incoming freshman Mike Sainristil.

While many Michigan fans were excited about Giles Jackson he isn’t enrolling until the fall and Sainristil, who also played corner in high school, stole his thunder.

The 5-foot-10 receiver was dynamic in the slot and impressed both Harbaugh and Gattis with his speed, which he flashed on the first drive of the spring game Saturday. Black, Bell, Collins, Peoples-Jones and Jackson are all going to play a role, but you can expect Sainristil to get plenty of touches too in the fall.
