Michigan Football: 10 Wolverines who improved their stock this spring
Devin Gil improved in coverage
Of all the players that left the Michigan football team following the 2018 season, there are none more difficult to replace than linebacker Devin Bush.
Bush is a dynamic athlete that is truly a three-down linebacker that never has to leave the field. He had the toughness to take on an offensive lineman and the speed to cover a tight end. His tackling was perfect and his ability to get home on the blitz was special.
Replacing him is nearly impossible but one guy that will try to fill his shoes is linebacker Devin Gil and this spring, he looked more athletic and more comfortable in coverage than he did against Florida and Ohio State when he was taken advantage of repeatedly.
Don Brown talked about how Gil looked quicker this spring and you could see it on the field in the open practice as well as the scrimmage. Linebacker is another really deep position but expect Gil to start and be much better than he was a year ago.
