Michigan Football: 5 things we learned about Wolverines spring game
All the quarterbacks looked comfortable
Certainly, the quarterbacks didn’t play perfectly in the hour-long scrimmage with Shea Patterson and Joe Milton both throwing interceptions. Yet, Patterson threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Ronnie Bell and also converted a big third down in the red zone with a 20-yard dime to Sean McKeon.
On the first drive, Patterson completed passes to Bell and Mike Sainristil that advanced the ball inside the 10 before Michigan football kicked a field goal. Patterson was off the mark at times but he looked very comfortable in the run-pass options.
Dylan McCaffrey also threw a touchdown pass along with Milton and McCaffrey really impressed with his legs. It remains to be seen how much he plays next season but he adds a different element to the offense.
For this part, Milton was solid. He was accurate with the ball and made good decisions except for his interception when linebacker Michael Barrett undercut him. He threw a really nice pass down the sideline to Erick All for 20 on his first drive and in terms of signal callers, Michigan football is in good shape.
