Michigan Basketball: Predicting the Wolverines NBA draft decisions
Michigan basketball has a few key players that will be considering the NBA draft and here are predictions for each of them and whether they will stay or go.
It’s Final Four weekend. But unfortunately, Michigan basketball fans are left the ponder the future for the Wolverines instead of trying to cheer them onto a national championship.
That’s what Michigan basketball was doing last year at this time. The Wolverines ended Loyola’s Cinderella run in the national semifinals after a stellar performance from Moritz Wagner.
This season, Michigan will be watching the Final Four along with its fans and we might all have to watch Michigan State bring home the Big Ten’s first national title since the Spartans cut down the nets back in 2000.
While UM didn’t cut down any nets or hang any banners outside of a Sweet 16 banner, which is still a big deal, considering the Wolverines have made it three years running, something the program hasn’t done since the Fab Five days, there is hope for next season.
Michigan basketball doesn’t have any seniors, at least none that have exhausted their eligibility. Charles Matthews is graduating but he redshirted two years ago, so he has one year left to play college hoops if he wants to.
Matthews will have a decision to make and the others that seem likely to put their name in for NBA draft consideration are Jordan Poole and Ignas Brazdeikis. It’s likely all three declare because if they don’t hire an agent, they get a free NBA evaluation and a chance to compete.
Matthews did last season and decided to come back, what will his decision be this time? How about Poole and Iggy? Here is my take on what happens with UM’s NBA draft decisions.
