Right guys are stepping up on the defensive line

With basically three starters leaving the defensive line in Gary, Winovich and Mone, the Wolverines certainly had a lot to achieve on the defensive line this spring but so far, everything seems to be falling into place.

At defensive tackle, Donovan Jeter has been a bright spot and both Harbaugh and Brown have talked to the media about his development this spring. That should go a long way towards proving some essential depth behind Michael Dwumfour and Carlo Kemp at defensive tackle.

On top of Jeter, Kwity Paye has also gotten some mention this spring and Uche is a guy that appears ready for a monster season. Brown also mentioned some of this in his interview with Wolverines Wire:

“Start with this Donovan Jeter – I think we’ve got ourselves a real inside guy,” Brown said. “Luiji Vilain has practiced all five practices – arrow’s up. I don’t have to tell you about Kwity Paye, Aidan Hutchinson – that group.”

Luiji Vilain getting through each practice so far is also extremely good news as just about everyone is waiting for him to have a breakout season. At the end of the day, from the head coach to the defensive coordinator to just about anyone you talk to, the defensive line seems more than fine.
