Simpson has one of those nights

I know that Charles Matthews is going to play an important role in the proceedings tonight and his defense on Culver, as well as his ability to create offensively, is as important as anything else.

Yet, I just have a feeling that Zavier Simpson is going to have one of those games where he just looks completely in control. I know that Texas Tech forces a lot of turnovers and that Simpson turned it over four times each in wins over Montana and Florida.

But I also know that Simpson is going to be incredibly motivated to improve that performance and he manhandled the Texas A&M pressure a year ago. The Red Raiders are a really good defensive team, but they don’t have any guards better than Cassius Winston.

Simpson should be just fine in this matchup. In fact, he might be the Wolverines biggest advantage. Elite point guard play is hard to beat and when Simpson is scoring, assisting, rebounding and defending, it’s hard to beat Michigan basketball and I see him having one of those nights where he stuffs stats in all categories.
