Michigan will pull away late

It wouldn’t be shocking if this game was close and even came down to the wire, but I don’t expect that. Michigan sounds motivated this week following their third loss to Michigan State and they seem focused on taking care of business.

Charles Matthews and Zavier Simpson have really taken on leadership roles and Matthews is a guy that will need to step and play better, especially on the offensive end. He sparked Michigan last year against Montana when things weren’t going well and in this game, I think UM turns to Matthews again.

The bottom line is that if Michigan is going to have a chance at beating elite teams, Matthews has to play the way he did against Villanova, North Carolina and Wisconsin when he dominated in the second half and helped carry Michigan to victory.

The mid-range jumper needs to start falling and tonight, I think it will. Iggy and Poole should also have strong nights and in the end, Simpson, Teske and the defense will be too much for Montana.
