Michigan Basketball: 5 reasons Wolverines can make Final Four again
Michigan basketball has been one of the top teams in college hoops all season long and here are five reasons the Wolverines can reach another Final Four.
This Michigan basketball season has been one with tremendous highs and also tremendous lows.
The Wolverines won their first 17 games and were ranked in the top 10 basically all season long. There were key wins over Purdue, North Carolina, Villanova, Wisconsin, Maryland and others.
At the same time, there were some heartbreaking losses. Michigan State beat Michigan three times and each time, the Wolverines had at least a six-point lead in the second half. With just one win, UM would have shared the regular season title or been Big Ten tournament champions.
Instead, the Wolverines are left without any hardware. There will be no banners to hang for the regular season. But as far as the NCAA tournament is concerned, there will be more chances to banners.
Michigan would love to put up another Sweet 16 banner or even another for reaching the Final Four. The question is, can they?
According to the Kenpom rankings, Michigan basketball heads into the tournament ranked as the No. 5 team and with some of the Wolverines wins, they know they can knock off elite teams, it’s just a matter of doing it.
If the Wolverines can play as they did early in the season and reach their potential, they are capable of winning the West Region and here are the five reasons why that’s a possibility.
