Michigan basketball adds a quad 1 win does that mean a two seed?

Not only did the Wolverines seem to find their groove against Iowa in the Big Ten quarterfinals, but they also notched their ninth quadrant 1 win of the season.

Iowa is ranked 41st in the NET rankings and any win over a top-50 team on a neutral floor counts as a quad 1 win and the domination of Iowa gave the Wolverines another, actually their second in their last three games for people who think they are in some kind of slump.

Beating Minnesota wouldn’t quite give Michigan another because the Gophers are 57th in the NET rankings but it would be another solid win on a neutral floor.

The Wolverines would also reach the Big Ten championship game for the third straight year. Tomorrow’s trip to the semifinals will be UM’s fourth straight and over the last four years, its overall record at this tournament is 11-1.

After the loss to Michigan State, some of the bracket projections dropped Michigan to a three seed, but with a win over Minnesota, it’s hard to see how the Wolverines don’t end up as at least a two seed in the NCAA tournament. With their resume, they should be already.
