Michigan basketball will look to bounce back from Sunday’s loss to Michigan State Thursday night against Nebraska. Here are three predictions.

The last time Michigan basketball walked off the floor at the Crisler Center, it was following a bitter defeat last Sunday to the Michigan State Spartans.

That defeat will likely cost Michigan a chance at the Big Ten championship, at least the regular season championship. But the Wolverines still have plenty to play for and if they win their last three games, a loss by Purdue is all that would be needed to earn a share of the title.

Michigan basketball doesn’t control its own destiny as it did going into the Michigan State game, but in terms of what really matters, the Wolverines still control their own fate.

The loss to Michigan State was the fourth of the season for the Wolverines and even if they lose a road game at Maryland or against the Spartans to end the season, a No. 2 seed is still a strong possibility. If Michigan beats Nebraska and wins in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament, its NCAA seed should be safe.

So tonight’s game against Nebraska is big. It’s senior night for one thing and Charles Matthews will be honored even though he will have a decision to make. Beyond that, it’s the final home game and a chance to end things the right way in front of the home fans after a disappointing defeat.

Looking at all the key factors, here is a breakdown and three predictions on tonight’s game between Nebraska and Michigan.
