Daxton Hill

In the secondary, Michigan football lost some key guys both to the NFL draft and to graduation. However, the good news is that the Wolverines top recruit in the 2019 class is defensive standout Daxton Hill.

The 6-foot safety can play multiple positions and is a tremendous tackler that also has the ability to cover. Most importantly, he brings speed — something that this defense clearly lacked on the backend against Ohio State and Florida.

Michigan football has some nice players coming back in the secondary such as Lavert Hill, Josh Metellus and others, but even if every single player was back, Daxton Hill would still earn his way on the field.

With his versatility, nickel corner seems like an ideal role for him. It would give Michigan a chance to match him up against a quick receiver or even a tight end, while also being able to use him in run support at the same time.
