Michigan basketball travels to Rutgers tonight to take on the Scarlet Knights. Here is some of the key info, as well as predictions and how to stream.

After an ugly loss at Iowa last Saturday, its first double-digit loss since the national championship game, Michigan basketball will be back on the road tonight and the destination is Piscataway, New Jersey to take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Rutgers is far from a powerhouse in the Big Ten, but they rank 93rd in the Kenpom rankings and they sit at 4-7 in conference play. The Scarlet Knights are not in the same league as Michigan basketball, however, at home, they have already beaten Ohio State, Nebraska, Indiana and Miami of the ACC. Rutgers also won at Penn State.

The Scarlet Knights are tied for ninth in the Big Ten and if they play well enough, they could avoid the first day of the Big Ten tournament. That’s probably the only realistic goal for them along with winning as many games as possible to earn an NIT berth.

For Michigan basketball, much more is at stake. The Wolverines dropped to seventh in the AP poll after the loss to Iowa and are now in a three-way tie atop the Big Ten with Purdue and Michigan State. The Wolverines are projected as a two seed, but a bad loss to Rutgers could change that.

Michigan’s two defeats were at Wisconsin and Iowa, two pretty solid teams and losing on the road like that is forgivable. However, a loss to Rutgers would kill their shot of being a No. 1 seed and might dash any hopes of winning the Big Ten with the difficult schedule that lies ahead.

However, before we break things down any further, here is the basic game info:
