Michigan football will have some key pieces to replace heading into the 2019 season and with that, here’s our stab at predicting the 2019 depth chart.

There is no question that the 2019 season is going to be significant for Michigan football and head coach Jim Harbaugh.

After finishing with two straight losses for the third straight year in 2018, plus another loss to Ohio State, 2019 feels like a do or die year for the Wolverines.

After all, if Michigan football can’t beat Ohio State when it plays the Buckeyes at home in 2019, with a senior at quarterback against a first-year head coach and maybe a first-year starting QB in Justin Fields, then when will it happen?

That is the backdrop heading into 2019, although the attention surrounding new offensive coordinator Josh Gattis has prevented too much negativity from following the program. Coaching hires and positive press are good things, but the only thing that really matters for Michigan football is results on the field.

In 2018, the Wolverines did win 10 games and went 8-1 in the Big Ten, beating three ranked opponents along the way. So it wasn’t all bad. What makes it worse is that some of the top players from that team, Chase Winovich, Karan Higdon, Devin Bush, Rashan Gary and David Long are all graduating or heading to the NFL.

Juwann Bushell-Beatty, Brian Mone, Tyree Kinnel and Zach Gentry, who also left for the draft, will also need to be replaced. Of course, roster turnover is nothing new in the college ranks and as we look ahead to 2019, here are our depth chart predictions for each position.
