The offense needs to fix things in a hurry

As much as I love Teske and who he has become as a player, I am not sure how long Michigan basketball can win games with him being their best offensive player.

But Tuesday night against Minnesota, that’s exactly what Teske was. He not only scored 15 points, but he was also 6-of-7 from the field. Iggy scored 18 to lead the way for all scorers but he was only 4-of-18 from the field, granted he was 9-of-11 from the free throw line.

But literally, outside of Teske, every starter struggled shooting the ball. Matthews finished 3-of-8; Simpson was 3-of-11 and Jordan Poole 1-of-5. Even worse for Poole is that he was 0-for-3 from deep and made just 1-of-4 free throws.

The good news is that after turning it over 16 times at Wisconsin, Michigan turned it over just five times against Minnesota. But over the last two games, Michigan has shot less than 40 percent from the field overall and 20 percent from the 3-point line.

And with a road trip to Indiana Friday and a home game against Ohio State next Monday, that needs to change quickly or the Wolverines will find themselves behind the 8-ball in the Big Ten race.
