Patterson will account for 30 or more touchdowns

Last season, Patterson accounted for 24 touchdowns, with two coming on the ground. When he came to Michigan, he was talked about as being like Johnny Manziel, yet, he never really used his legs outside of sparingly.

Patterson did break off the long run against Wisconsin and he did pick up some big first downs with his legs, but for the most part, he didn’t produce the way you would expect as a runner. This year, that should change a little bit.

Gattis should give Michigan more run-pass options and more zone read plays. I don’t think Michigan football wants Patterson running all the time, but he should run more and that should earn him more rushing touchdowns.

On top of that, with more opportunities to throw the football, he should get close to 30 touchdown passes and when it’s all said and done, he should be somewhere in the 30-40 range next season if all goes according to plan.
