Michigan Basketball: 3 things we learned in win over Northwestern
Michigan basketball is dominating the competition
One of the most impressive things about Michigan is the way that its winning games. Yes, the Wolverines have won 17 straight and 31 of their last 32.
But when you consider that Michigan basketball has won the last three games against Indiana, Illinois and Northwestern wire-to-wire, it’s even more impressive. Not once in one of those games did Michigan trail. I don’t care how good you are or who you play — that’s not easy to do and it just speaks to the consistency of this team.
Another impressive stat is that only one team has played Michigan within eight points and that’s Northwestern, which just lost to the Wolverines by 20 in their second meeting. Michigan’s next closest win was eight points and that was against Western Michigan.
When Michigan is engaged and plays a team of substance, most of the time, it has been a blowout. Northwestern avoided that fate earlier in the season, however, Sunday night, the Wolverines got revenge and reminded the Wildcats, that they aren’t in Michigan’s league.
At least not yet. But on the same note, no one really is right now, except maybe Duke.
