Michigan Football: 3 keys to beating Florida in the Peach Bowl
The team that gets to the QB will have a huge advantage
We all know how important a good pass rush is and when it comes to the matchup between Michigan football and Florida, the team that pressures the quarterback more, will probably win.
Both teams are stout on defense. Michigan is great against the run and even though Florida looks mediocre, the Gators are fast and athletic and without Higdon and Bushell-Beatty, we will see how effective the run game is.
In terms of sacks and sacks allowed, Michigan and Florida are very comparable. Florida’s defense got 32 sacks during the season, while Michigan’s finished with 31. In terms of sacks allowed, Michigan allowed 18 — Florida 15. Again a very close number.
Chase Winovich, Josh Uche and Kwity Paye need to get pressure for Michigan. Florida needs to get the same from Jachai Polite (11.5 sacks) and Jabari Zuniga (6.5 sacks). Whichever teams get more production from its edge rushers is going to be in a good position to win the game, so it will be a interesting battle to watch on both sides of the ball.
