What impact does this have on the Peach Bowl?

I know there are many Michigan football fans that don’t seem to care about the Peach Bowl and have said winning the game doesn’t matter. Yet, we all know those same fans will be livid if the Wolverines lost.

That’s the bad part of playing Florida. Michigan has won twice against the Gators in recent years, so a win is expected. But this team is coached by Dan Mullens and they are in the Peach Bowl for a reason.

Florida has a solid quarterback in its own right this time around and a dynamic defense. This Gators team is also going to be hungry, just like Harbaugh’s crew was back in 2015. This game will be viewed as a springboard for them and a chance to show the nation they really are back.

For Michigan, having Patterson will help with the motivation. He was going to play either way, but with him back for next season, I expect him to be much more invested in winning this game. He will want to get this thing headed in a positive direction after the loss to Ohio State and you can bet he will want to send close friend and roommate Chase Winovich out with a win.

So if the question is how will Patterson’s decision impact the Peach Bowl? The answer is in a big way. Not that he didn’t want to win before, but now, he probably views it as a jumpstart on 2019, as well as a chance to salvage 11 wins from 2018.
