DT Chris Hinton

Michigan football is going to be without some key guys up front and one of them is Brian Mone, who will graduate. The other is former five-star recruit Aubrey Solomon, who announced his intention to transfer earlier this week.

Solomon was going to have every chance to compete for a starting job with guys like Michael Dwumfour, Carlo Kemp and Donovan Jeter. Now, four-star defensive tackle Chris Hinton, the No. 3 prospect in Michigan’s class will get that opportunity.

At 6-foot-4, 280 pounds, Hinton is a top-five prospect at his position and he’s a guy that likely would have played anyway due to his ability to rush the pass from the inside. However, now that Solomon is gone, he has a legitimate chance to play a lot right away.

We will see if Hinton has a shot at winning the starting job, but he should be on the two-deep right away and he should be a guy that plays enough to exhaust his first season of eligibility in 2019.
