Michigan football has been building some momentum on the recruiting trail but will that continue this week as the early signing day approaches? Here are three predictions for the week ahead.

Recruiting is a funny thing. One day you seem to have momentum and the next, everything seems to be against you. That’s what it has been like for Michigan football lately as the Wolverines try to close strong with early national signing day coming up Wednesday.

And at times in the last couple weeks, there have been some good moments. There were two really good moments over the weekend when a pair of four-star recruits, Trevor Keegan and Anthony Solomon, committed to Michigan football.

The Wolverines edged out Georiga and Penn State for Keegan, the top player in the state of Illinois, who just happens to be a 6-foot-6 offensive tackle. In terms of Solomon, Michigan won a long recruiting battle with Miami.

As early as last April, it looked like Solomon was high on Michigan football, but Manny Diaz and the Hurricanes were able to secure his commitment. However, with Diaz leaving for the Temple job, Solomon paid a visit to Ann Arbor Saturday and by Sunday evening, he had committed to UM.

It works that fast sometimes in recruiting and that’s why the action in the coming days should be fast and furious. Right now, Michigan football has 25 commitments and this week, the Wolverines hope to add a few more and here are my predictions for the biggest recruiting battles facing UM.
