Poole finally looks like himself

Coming into the season, maybe no player generated more excitement than Jordan Poole. After the way he finished and some of the hype he was getting from NBA scouts, he seemed like another player ready for stardom.

However, the first few games didn’t play out that way. During the first three games of the season, Poole scored only 10 points and he was 1-of-10 from deep. Overall, he started the season 4-of-17 from the field.

Since then, Poole has averaged 14.5 points per game and has scored 14 points or more in three of his last four outings. The 18 points he scored against North Carolina was his second-best output of the season, it was also his second game with at least five made 3-pointers. Beyond that, he has made 12-of-his-last-22 3-pointers, which has his overall percentage from beyond the arc at 40.

One thing this Michigan team is missing a little from last year is outside shooting. Yet, when Poole is shooting like he did against North Carolina, it’s not a concern and when that’s the case, this Michigan basketball team is even harder to beat.
