Iggy was the top freshman on a night of young stars

We already knew that Iggy was going to be a star, however, I don’t know if anyone knew he would this good this early for Michigan basketball.

And Wednesday night, Brazdeikis took his game to another level. In the most marquee game of the season so far, in front of a national TV audience on ESPN, Iggy stole the show from North Carolina freshmen Cody White and Nassir Little.

Those two players combined for 16 points, while Iggy scored 24, leading all scorers on both teams. More impressively, he was 9-of-13 from the field and 2-of-4 from 3-point range. He muscled his way inside and defensively, he more than held his own against Luke Maye, who had only 11 points and made just 4-of-11 shots from the field.

Iggy’s defense is outstanding but so his his ability to get to the basket. Last season Michigan basketall had a pretty special player wearing No. 13 (Moe Wagner) and now it appears that tradition has been passed on to the new 13, who also looks like Michigan’s next superstar.
