Michigan Football: 5 things we learned from Wolverines loss to Ohio State
Michigan football was blown out by Ohio State Saturday in the game and as painful as it might be, here are five things we learned about the Wolverines.
The kind of loss that Michigan football suffered Saturday is the kind of loss that is going to stick with you for a while, at least if you are a fan of the Wolverines or part of the team.
The last two and a half months have been a dream for the Michigan football program. The Wolverines recovered beautifully from the loss to Notre Dame and reeled off wins over Northwestern, Wisconsin, Michigan State and Penn State.
Michigan football didn’t just beat those teams, it dominated them. And that domination made you think things have finally changed with the Wolverines and that they were finally superior to Ohio State.
Think again.
It didn’t take long for Ohio State to show it wasn’t afraid of the vaunted Michigan defense. With crossing routes, great protection and a great quarterback, the Buckeyes owned the Wolverines. Urban Meyer and crew even made Don Brown look like he had no clue what he was doing.
It was as thorough a beating as one could have possibly expected. And because of that, the dream season, the Big Ten Championship, the College Football Playoff — everything, all went down the drain, all at once. The most promising Michigan football season in two decades ended with one crushing blow Saturday in Columbus and here we are, left to pick up the pieces.
Obviously, there is a bowl game left to play, but for now, here is a look at what we learned in the 62-39 loss at the hands of Ohio State.
