Michigan Football: 3 reasons to fear an upset against Ohio State
Can Urban pull another rabbit out of the hat against Michigan?
I hate Urban Meyer. I really do and I think every Michigan football fan is right there with me. I don’t wish him bad health or anything like that, but he has owned the Wolverines the last six years and that’s why you can’t count out the Buckeyes.
Michigan Wolverines
Meyer’s team wasn’t as good as Michigan in 2016. Say what you will and say the ball was short on that fourth down, but still, Ohio State won with an inferior team. It just did. Who is to say Meyer can’t do the same this season?
In 2015, his team laid an egg against Michigan State a week before The Game. Suddenly, next week, the Buckeyes looked like the best team in the country and routed a 10-win Michigan squad by 29 points.
For some reason, Meyer seems to get the most out of his team during Michigan week. The defense has been terrible, but it will probably be better tomorrow. Maybe not good enough to win, but I don’t see the Wolverines scoring 40 points.
And with rumors about Meyer’s future, I am worried that the Buckeyes will have a win-one-for-the-Gipper attitude. This team has looked disinterested at times and I don’t want to see them 100 percent invested tomorrow. However, I think that’s exactly what we will see.
This game elevates teams and it could elevate a pretty talented Ohio State team. Everything points to a Michigan win and ultimately, I think it will happen, but there is more than one reason to fear an upset by Ohio State and if you don’t fear it, then you aren’t thinking straight.
