Michigan Football: 5 reasons Wolverines fans have to be thankful
Don Brown is another great reason to give thanks
While Harbaugh has been a huge part of Michigan’s success, a lot of the credit for the Wolverines incredible defense goes to defensive coordinator Don Brown.
After D.J. Durkin left for Maryland following the 2015 season, Harbaugh needed a new guy to run his defense and he settled on Brown and that decision is maybe the best Harbaugh has made in his four years as head coach.
In two of the last three years, Michigan football has led the nation in pass yards allowed. This year, the Wolverines have the best pass defense and the best total defense. Michigan is solid in every facet of the game on defense. It stops the run, pressures the quarterback and takes the ball away. The Wolverines have also scored four defensive touchdowns.
With the talented recruits Michigan gets on defense and the genius of Brown, the Wolverines are going to have elite defenses for years to come. And that’s something we can all appreciate. After all, defense wins championships.
