Michigan Football: 5 predictions for the Wolverines against Rutgers
Wolverines won’t allow Rutgers to even score
This might be the boldest prediction I am going to make ahead of this game, but with this defense, is it really a stretch?
Honestly, if I thought Harbaugh and defensive coordinator Don Brown would let the first team play the entire game, I would feel much better about predicting a shutout. At the same time, I think this defense wants it and I think the second-team defense is good enough to deliver it.
Rutgers is also terrible offensively. Rutgers has scored in double digits in every home game this season, yet in Big Ten play they haven’t scored more than 17 and that was against Indiana.
To me, it really depends on Michigan. If the Wolverines have the same focus they have had the past few weeks, a shutout is possible. But if they let up a bit and against Rutgers who could really blame them, then the Scarlet Knights could get something. The backups could also give up some points, but I still think Michigan has at least a 50/50 shot at holding Rutgers scoreless.
