Michigan Basketball: 5 predictions for the Wolverines 2018-19 season
Wolverines will win the regular-season title not the tournament
It feels like the Big Ten basketball championship is going to come down to the 10th-ranked Spartans and the 19th-ranked Wolverines. That’s just a feeling at this point, but it’s hard to argue those look like the two best teams.
Michigan Wolverines
Purdue should be solid and everyone seems to like Nebraska. But for my money, the Wolverines and Spartans are going to battle for that crown and seeing as two of Michigan’s final four games are against MSU, it will come down to the wire.
The past two seasons, winning the Big Ten Tournament Championship back-to-back has been incredible. However, the one thing, outside of winning the national title, this program hasn’t done for a few years is in winning the regular season title in the Big Ten and to me, that’s the bar for this season.
Michigan won a co-title in 2012 and won the league outright in 2014. All I know is that if the race comes down to two games late in the season, I think Michigan basketball will at least be co-champions, yet, a title on its own would be the ultimate success.
Also, Michigan basketball will head back to the big dance and with this team, another Sweet 16 run is well within reach. Happy basketball everyone!
