It was a great night for Michigan football at the Big House Saturday, as the Wolverines rolled Penn State 42-7. Here are five things we learned.

The Michigan football team didn’t just beat Penn State on Saturday, the Wolverines demolished the Nittany Lions and even though the outcome wasn’t really decided until the third or fourth quarter, Michigan really won the game with the first two drives.

Penn State opened the game by completing a pass for a first down. Then, Trace McSorley was sacked twice in three plays. Penn State punted and Michigan football responded with a 75-yard touchdown drive that featured nine runs and zero passes.

It might be old school, but it made a statement. Halfway through the first quarter Michigan looked Penn State right in the eye and said: We are bigger, we are more physical and we own you.

From that point on, the Wolverines toyed with Penn State. It was 14-0 at halftime and Penn State hung around until Shea Patterson made it 21-0 with a touchdown pass to Zach Gentry, which was followed by a pick-six by Brandon Watson, which extended the lead to 28-0.

Penn State couldn’t run the ball, McSorley was usually running for his life and when it was over, it was clear that this Wolverines team is superior to Penn State in every way possible.

It was the third straight win over a ranked team for Michigan football and to put more accurately, it was their third straight domination. Things are good right now for the Wolverines and here is a look at five things we learned from the 35-point blowout of Penn State.
