Michigan Football: 5 predictions for Wolverines against Penn State
Michigan football hits the next game up in its revenge tour Saturday, as Penn State comes to the Big House. Here are five bold predictions.
One thing that has always been great about the Big Ten are some of the classic, old-school matchups, like the one we will see Saturday between Michigan football and Penn State.
Both of these programs have a lot of history and tradition, however, both are also currently contenders. Michigan football is the fifth-ranked team in the College Football Playoff rankings, while Penn State, which is 6-2, ranks 13th.
No matter how you slice it, it’s a huge game.
Michigan football is hoping to keep its playoff hopes alive and get one step closer to Indianapolis. A loss won’t ruin the Wolverines hopes in the Big Ten East, but a loss does eliminate them from the national title race.
For Penn State, after losing to Ohio State and Michigan State, a Big Ten title isn’t in the cards. Yet, a berth in the Rose Bowl could still be in play by winning out. That would make the Nittany Lions 10-2 when it’s all said and done and with a win over UM, Penn State probably should go to Pasadena over the Wolverines.
That’s assuming of course that Michigan losses to Ohio State. But let’s not get too far into the hypotheticals. It’s an enormous game for both teams and after getting drubbed 42-13 last season, the Wolverines want revenge.
Will they get it? Here are five predictions for Michigan and Penn State Saturday.
