Michigan Football: 3 reasons Wolverines could blowout Penn State
The defense will be out for blood
Penn State is a solid football team, there is no question about that, however, the Wolverines are really good, especially on defense and that side of the ball is more motivated than usual to make a point.
Led by quarterback Trace McSorley, the Nittany Lions might have the best offense Michigan has faced so far this season. Yet, most of the time this season, the Wolverines have held opposing offenses to their lowest yardage outputs and it wouldn’t be shocking to see that happen Saturday.
McSorley is dangerous, but he is also hurt. He’s not going to be 100 percent and with a lower-body injury, he shouldn’t be the threat running that he is normally. Penn State is rushing for more than 225 yards per game, but Michigan is also allowing just 97 yards on the ground and also boasts the best pass defense in the nation.
This defense isn’t a good matchup for Penn State or any team for that matter. If McSorley was fully healthy, the Nittany Lions would have more of a chance, as it stands, it’s hard to see them scoring more than a 14-17 points.
