Michigan Football: 5 reasons Wolverines will beat Wisconsin
Michigan football will host Wisconsin Saturday in a crucial battle for the Wolverines and Badgers. Here are five reasons UM will come away victorious.
It has been five weeks since the Michigan football team has played a big game and Saturday night, the Wolverines will finally get their shot at redemption.
The losing streak in big games basically can be traced back to Wisconsin in 2016. That matchup of top-10 teams was the last time Michigan football beat a really good team. Since then, it’s been loss after loss. Ohio State has beaten Michigan twice since then; Penn State beat the Wolverines, so have Michigan State and Wisconsin since then.
The losses to South Carolina in the Outback Bowl and the season-opening loss to Notre Dame only underscore the fact that Michigan hasn’t gotten it done against good teams. However, this Wolverines team seems different.
For one, Shea Patterson is a different kind of quarterback. Even going back to Wilton Speight, Patterson is a tremendous upgrade, which is why Speight left UM when Patterson came aboard.
Both Michigan and Wisconsin have a loss and haven’t started the season the way each school wanted. Yet, both can rectify that Saturday with a win over a top-15 team. Both teams can also push their way back into the playoff conversation.
College Gameday is going to be on site at the Big House and another failure for Michigan would simply be disastrous. The Wolverines are 9.5 point favorites and the more talented team. Wisconsin is certainly capable of winning the game, but here are five reasons why UM will prevail.
