The Michigan football team returns to the Big House to take on Maryland Saturday and here are five bold predictions for the outcome.

After last week’s scare against Northwestern, Michigan football should be wary of a Maryland team coming into the Big House with a record of 3-1 and a victory over a ranked opponent in Texas on its resume.

The Terps are no joke. They don’t have the talent or the depth that Michigan football does. They also don’t have the quarterback. However, they do have a solid defense and pretty good running game, although it remains to be seen how effective that will be against the Wolverines.

Truthfully. since Maryland joined the Big Ten, it hasn’t really been a factor in the Big Ten East. The Terps did beat the Wolverines back in 2014, during the final season of Brady Hoke. But that’s their lone win over the Wolverines in seven games total and four in the Big Ten Conference.

While that loss under Hoke stung, it was one of the final nails in the coffin of a disastrous tenure, so maybe we shouldn’t hold a grudge there. Also, the Wolverines have drubbed the Terps the last three seasons by scores of 28-0, 59-3 and 35-10.

Brandon Peters led Michigan football to 35 points against Maryland, that’s how bad the Terps were last season. Maryland didn’t look great in a 35-14 loss to Temple, but last week, the Terps rolled Minnesota 42-13, so Michigan can’t overlook this game, especially with the Wisconsin Badgers looming.

After a close win a week ago, here’s hoping Michigan football comes out firing on all cylinders and with that in mind, here are five bold predictions for Saturday.
