That changed Saturday. Michigan dominated Nebraska, a middle-of-the-road Big Ten team and made the Huskers look like they belong in the FCS. Up front, on both sides of the ball, the Wolverines absolutely dominated.
The offensive line, along with tight ends and even wide receivers at times, helped the running game churn out 285 yards and four touchdowns. Michigan also gave up just one sack and averaged 6.3 yards per carry against a defense allowing 2.7.
The defense was equally good. It held Nebraska to 17 yards in the first half. Michigan produced four sacks, 14 TFL, two fumbles (one recovered) and one interception. The Huskers finished with 132 yards of total offense and went 3-of-13 on third down.
No matter how you slice it, Michigan looked as good as they have in two years. We’ll see if they can keep it up on the road against Northwestern next week, but if they can, the rest of the Big Ten better watch out.
