Michigan Football: 3 Notre Dame players to watch vs Wolverines
Chances are you probably already know a lot about the Michigan football team and its players, so here is a look at some key guys for Notre Dame.
It’s hard not to be excited for Saturday when Michigan football and Notre Dame renew their rivalry. After the absence of a few years, the two teams will meet in South Bend, under the lights, in a game that is sure to have a lot of eyes on it.
The 12th-ranked Fighting Irish are coming off a 10-3 season and enter the game as a one-point favorite over 15th-ranked Michigan football, which is trying to rebound from an 8-5 campaign in 2017.
Two big issues for the Wolverines have been beating good teams and winning games on the road. Jim Harbaugh hasn’t defeated a ranked opponent away from the Big House, so we will see if Saturday night marks the first time. UM also hasn’t beaten a ranked team since Wisconsin in 2016, so that’s another milestone that would be nice to end.
Of course, we all know who will be important in the game for Michigan football. Guys like Shea Patterson, Karan Higdon, the offensive line, Rashan Gary, Chase Winovich, Devin Bush Jr. and others all need to stand out.
But what about for Brian Kelly and the Irish? Notre Dame was very balanced last season, ranking 24th in the FBS in points scored and 31st in the FBS in points allowed. The Irish have some key guys to replace on offense but a bunch of studs back on defense.
The battle between the two teams should be physical and it should be fun to watch. And if you plan on tuning in, here are three Fighting Irish players to watch closely.
