Michigan Football: 3 players who should be feeling the pressure
There is a lot of pressure facing the Michigan football team heading into the 2018 season and here are three guys who might be feeling it the most.
It would be a lie to say that expectations for the upcoming Michigan football season are anything but high. The Wolverines are loaded with talent and in the fourth year under head coach Jim Harbaugh, it seems like time for a breakout campaign.
More than that, Michigan football seems to finally have the pieces to do it. During Harbaugh’s first season, Jake Rudock was a solid quarterback. UM should have beaten Michigan State and at least made a major bowl game, but we all know what happened that fateful night in the Big House.
That teams also got dominated by Ohio State. Then in 2016, Michigan football was arguably inches away from being a win away from the College Football Playoff. But Ohio State got the call and won the game.
Despite the loss of tons of talent from the 2016 Michigan team, the expectations were high last season. Yet, the Wolverines struggled to get a big win after the season opener against Florida and tumbled to 8-5.
That left the fan base frustrated and with zero Big Ten titles, no division titles and a 0-3 record against the Buckeyes, the pressure is mounting on Harbaugh. Yet, he’s not the only one.
This is a team with NFL talent, a lot of it. However, many of those guys are unproven still or have only done it for one year. Another 8-5 record might not be terrible for those guys, but it probably won’t help the cause either.
Certainly, there is pressure on every player at this level to deliver. But in terms of their importance to the team’s chances of winning this season, here are three Michigan football players who are under the most pressure heading into 2018.
