Michigan football has already put together a strong recruiting class for 2019. But after scheduling a visit for the top athlete in 2019, it could get even better.

Michigan football has put together a nice recruiting class so far for 2019. But with the upcoming visit of 5-star recruit Quavaris Crouch, it has the potential to get even better.

Crouch, who has already been on campus to visit with Michigan football, is going to take another unofficial visit according to 247sports. While the Wolverines might be a long shot for Crouch, the visit shows they are at least still in the game.

Of course,he has offers from every major team in college football. And when you consider what the 6-2, 238-pounder achieved last season, it’s easy to see why.

In terms of recruiting purposes, he is still considered an athlete. In fact, 247sports has him rated as the top athlete in the 2019 class. The 5-star recruit dominated at both running back and defensive end last season according to the Detroit Free Press.

Crouch has offers from Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, Florida, LSU, Notre Dame and Ohio State, but the North Carolina native is said to have a strong interest in Clemson, Tennessee and South Carolina.

Crouch is the top player in North Carolina and a bonafide 5-star. According to the Charlotte Observer, Crouch rushed for 3,283 yards last season and scored 33 touchdowns in the process. However, not to be outdone on defense, he also registered 14 sacks, another eye-popping number.

Nabbing Crouch does seem like a long shot, especially since UM seems to be lacking some momentum in recruiting. Michigan football still ranks 14th in 2019 and has 10 commits, including one 5-star and four 4-stars. Yet, stars like Crouch have eluded the Wolverines

Michigan football does have two top-100 players committed for 2019. Both are defensive ends in 5-star Chris Hinton and 4-star Stephen Herron. Crouch is listed as an athlete right now but seems best suited to be a running back.

When you watch him carry the football, you can see why Crouch is so highly touted. And Michigan football is a team that could use a superstar in the backfield. It’s been a long time since the days of Mike Hart and Chris Perry.

With Karan Higdon set to leave (most likely) after this season, the door is wide open for a big-time recruit to earn the job or at least get significant carries next season.

Yet, with Crouch, you get the feeling that wherever he goes, it won’t be long before he is the bell cow. He just seems to be that good. Only time will tell if UM has a legit chance to land him. We will surely know more by the end of his visit this week.
