Michigan Football: Wolverines 5 best NFL prospects heading into 2018
How high can Gary go?
From the day that Rashan Gary walked on campus to play for Michigan football, you knew he was going to be special. And now, as he enters his junior season, just about everyone is projecting him to be a top-10 pick.
Simply put, Gary is a freak. How many guys are 6-5, 300 pounds but also run the 40 in sub 4.6? Through two seasons, he has registered only six sacks and 16.5 tackles for loss. But if he can break out and reach double-digit sacks this year, the production will finally meet the potential.
That’s what NFL teams want to see. They want to see a guy who can dominate on all three downs, but most especially when it comes to getting after the QB. That is what will earn Gary the big bucks and the lofty draft status.

It’s not easy when the other team is focused so much on blocking you, but Gary needs to prove he can take over games this fall. If he does that and starts doing things that Maurice Hurst used to do, few names will be read by Roger Goodell before Gary’s in the 2019 NFL draft.
