Michigan Football: Wolverines 5 best NFL prospects heading into 2018
Devin Bush is going to turn heads in 2018
Everyone knows about Gary and what he can do, but in terms of Michigan defensive players, Bush brings about as much excitement as anybody. He also makes as many impactful plays as anyone on the roster.
Bush didn’t play much as a freshman. But last season, he won a starting linebacker job and was a force to be reckoned with. He finished his sophomore season with 95 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. Bush also picked off one pass against Wisconsin and broke up seven other passes, showing his ability to play the run, play the pass and pressure the quarterback.
Truly, Bush can do it all inside. He will have a dominant defensive line in front of him again this season, which should allow him to roam free and make plays. However, his instincts, which are second to none, are also essential to his playmaking ability.
Linebackers aren’t valued like they used to be, although three-down inside linebackers are becoming harder and harder to find. Bush is one of those guys in my opinion and that skill, plus his knack for big, hard-hitting plays will cause his stock to soar as 2018 goes on.
